As a musician myself, turning sheet music is the bane of my art. Ok I confess. I haven’t touched a musical instrument since the 11th grade but I did play for almost 8 years so there! Back to the subject at hand, the CLEF system consists of a flexible LCD touch screen with a built-in stand and a wireless foot pedal. |
|
Use the pedal to turn digital sheet music or just touch the screen. It also throws in some computer functions by allowing on the fly scoring, note taking, and collaborative writing. When you need a real computer, a keyboard slides out from underneath the screen and use the foot pedal as a stereo to enjoy the music you just played.

If we’ve seen one rocking chair concept, we’ve seen them all - they all literally rock. So what’s different about the CNC Rocking Chair? First off, its design almost begs to be rocked. Those two ellipticals look like they’d be a ton of fun. |

It all comes together in a searies of joists and notches so fundamentally, it’s adjustable. And for you greenies out there, it’s made of renewable materials. I almost feel like it needs a motor or something so I can zip across the floor.

It is strange to think that not too long ago there were no such things as pixels. Before the invention of photography, artificial pixels (short for PICture ELements)simply did not exist. It wasn’t until the personal computer hit the mainstream did the word “pixel” become widely known outside of geeks, video/photographers and the CIA. |
|
Now that several generations of designers have never known a world without pixels, it was expected that this single common component of an image would find its way onto non traditional objects. Cristian Zuzunaga, a graduate from the UK’s Royal College of Arts, has designed this Pixel Couch that will be produced by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat and sold through Moroso. I wonder what it would look like from far away.

Listen, you are not in college any longer and it’s about time you started cleaning up your act. Stop wearing the same underwear more than two days in a row, learn to cut your finger nails and not consider them a food group, and certainly stop drinking your “de-stresser” out of the bottle. |

While we wait for you to actually use soap and water to clean your dishes, we present the “Vinho Verde” wine bottle concept. This design should, for the moment, exonerate you from your crusty goblets. The simple premise by Viktor Pucsek for PapaMama Design Competition, is that wine should be enjoyed anytime. By incorporating folded paper cups into the bottle itself and also using these cups as the bottle labels, he has successfully brought the idea of spontaneity to our wine “aficionado-ing”(made up word, what do you think?). No word on where he is hiding the corkscrew, but his sort of reminds me of those single portion breakfast cereal boxes that you cracked opened and poured milk into… yeah, I hated those. Never mind. Cheers! and watch for paper cuts.

Inspired by Swarovski’s expertise in crystal and Signity’s brilliance in gems, the Luna Watch is made of crystal, stainless steel and a Spessartite Garnet. To tell time just touch the two contact points and time seems to magically float inside the crystal. |
|
Simplistic in its function yet aesthetically complex therefore this is a fashion watch. You can expect to see it in a range of colors with coordinated Signity gems.

The Slide faucet takes a non-traditional approach to turning on the tap, as you will have to move it backward to turn it on as well as regulate its temperature. This offers a clean cut design that will not be out of place at many a modern bathroom. |
|
This design was created by Alain Berteau and it will go on sale next month in Milan. Pricing has yet to be announced, but like most things in Milan, it won’t come cheap. I guess you have best not soap your hand before you turn the Slide faucet on, as you’d have a hell of a time trying to do exactly just that with slippery hands.
