Sony Drops 3 new Digiframes in S-Lineup

Even though digital photoframes are the least popular, Sony has managed to launch 3 new models in the S series. They feature a WVGA screen resolution of 800×480, from 256MB up to 512MB of internal memory, a 15:9 aspect ratio, ten pattern slide show, USB and HDMI terminals ,support for JPEG, RAW, TIFF and BMP, support for BIONZ technology, a position censor , a clock display, and a multi card reader.

The DPF-V900 has a 9″ LCD and HDMI, the DFP-V700 has a 7″ LCD and HDMI, and the DFP-D70 has a 7″ LCD without HDMI. No word on how much or when these are coming out exactly, but what’s the hurry if they’re not very popular.

Panasonic D-Snap SV-SD870N MP3 Player

Panasonic has announced a new D-Snap music player that features the ambient noise cancellation (like the Sony Sony NWS705) and 100 hours of battery life. It comes with 2GB SD Card (included), supports AAC, MP3, WMA and Line-in sound recording, and measures 35 x 91.3 x 12.3mm. Panasonic will start to ship the SV-SD870N in 5 colors starting April 18th in Japan.

Upcoming Clamshell Apple iPhone?

The picture above is a drawing based on a device described in a recent Apple’s patent application, called “Dual sided trackpad”. It seems that the company plans to release a clamshell version of iPhone in the future.

In a closed position, this clamshell becomes an ordinary slate tablet computer, with a multi-touch touchscreen. However, if you open the flip to up-to 160 degree angle, it becomes a normal laptop computer.

New Panasonic digital camera offers touchscreen controls

Panasonic unveiled today its first touchscreen digital camera. It is called the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 and pricing is set at around $400.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 sports a three-inch display which serves double duty as a LCD touchscreen. From this touchscreen one access the bulk of control options this camera makes available. It also makes use of joystick control for selection of options.
