Hirokazu Hamamura the head of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu’s parent company is predicting that Nintendo will unveil the next-generation DS at E3 2008 this summer. Hirokazu has not commented on the hardware or cost.

Gateway Launches New Laptops

Gateway has dropped several new models of laptops including the M-6850FX, M-1626, T-1628, and C-142XL. The M-6850FX ($1,000) features a Core 2 Duo T5550 CPU, an ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and a DVD-R / RW / DVD-RAM optical drive.

The M-1626 ($850) features a 15.4-inch display, an AMD Turion TL-60 CPU, ATI Radeon HD x1270 graphics, 4GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive,and HDMI. The T-1628 ($750) comes with a 14.1-inch display, AMD CPU and ATI graphics chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and wireless and HDMI support. Gateway has also dropped a new pen-based configuration called the C-142XL ($1,299.99) which comes with a Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU, ATI Radeon X2300 HD GPU, 3GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and a Wacom pen for input.

ASUS R700t TMC GPS Device

Asus will be releasing a new GPS device called the R700t which comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 480 x 272 resolution, support for mp3 playback, bluetooth 2.0 and microSD card slot.

It also features a built-in FM transmitter which allows the GPS unit to transmit phone conversations, navigational directions, and voice out SMS though your vehicle’s speakers, and lastly, the TMC (Traffic Message Channel) with real-time information on traffic conditions such as accidents, road diversions, traffic jams, and traffic light breakdowns so you’ll get to your destination quicker and safer. No word on when this will be coming out or a price.

Asus Launches Z37S Laptop

If you’re looking for a great laptop from Asus then the Z37S might be a possibility. It supports an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and NVIDIA mobile GPU technology, has a built-in 2.0 Mega-Pixel rotating webcam, an e-SATA connector and a 4-in-1 card reader (MMC/ SD/ Memory Stick/ MS Pro).

The Z37S allows users to simultaneously have working bluetooth peripherals on their system such as mice, keyboards, headsets, and mobile phones along with security features like a built-in fingerprint scanner that reads from the live layer of the skin, so the scanner wont be put off by skin surface conditions. AgfaPhoto SDHC Camcorder in Russia

AgfaPhoto is dropping a new SDHC camcorder later this month known as the DV-5000Z. It comes with a 5-megapixel Micron CMOS sensor, 2.5-inch flip-out LCD, 3x optical zoom and an SD / SDHC slot to store info on.

The DV-5000Z can capture clips at 1,280 x 720 (using H.264 compression) and 16-bit stereo sound. Additional features include USB connectivity, a rechargeable Li-ion and video out. It’s going for about €249 ($393) in Russia next month.
