Creative face hefty class-action payout over PMP hard-drive claims

Thursday, May 1st, 2008 | Mp3player with No Comments »

It’s hard to imagine that there could still be people out there who believe hard-drives will have as much space on them as manufacturers’ spec-sheets boast, but that very issue looks to have turned around and bit Creative on the behind.

A class-action suit was filed against the company regarding the quoted capacity of their hard-drive based media players, and it could result in a huge settlement for anybody who bought such a device between May 5th 2001 and April 30th 2008. Of course, Creative themselves aren’t admitting culpability, but seem to be making the gesture as more of a goodwill attempt than because they secretly feel guilty and have been unable to sleep at night.

I am one that my allergies won’t kill me or cause me to go on medication to treat them, however, when I’m exposed to certain environments I can end up with a sinus infection for a week.

Micro Orb spy camera: clip-capturing eyeball alternative

Thursday, May 1st, 2008 | Cameras with No Comments »

For some reason, this Micro Orb spy camera makes me think of Columbo-star Peter Falk. Perhaps if the TV detective had been fitted with a 1.5-inch sphere capturing 30fps MPEG-4 video (with sound), gathering evidence might’ve been even easier.

On sale in mid-May, the video camera has a three hour rechargeable battery and can record up to six hours of footage onto a 2GB microSD card.
