I find it pretty hard to believe that a company might actually want to piggyback on the success of other brands and even franchises. Case in point - the Matrix-NEO LCD monitor from Dao Korea. This glossy full HD LCD monitor will feature a ho-hum dynamic contrast ratio of 7,000 to 1, and will be released on May 1st. |
|
I wonder what the legal eagles from Warner Bros. have to say about this - will this Matrix-NEO LCD monitor actually stop time and “bullets” from your boss, just like how Neo managed to do so in the movies? I guess not, but at least you can choose from 17″, 19″, 20″, 22″ and 24″ varieties.

If the 11-inch XEL-1 was too thick for you at 3mm for an OLED screen, Sony has a new on up their sleeve that manages to almost be more anorexic than paper. For reference, and average sheet of paper is roughly .1mm thick, so stack three sheets together, push down on it to remove an extraneous space, and then you’ve got yourself the thickness of one of these displays. |

The PS3 is still too big to be portable, but at the very least you will be able to play it in the comfort of your own room while mom and dad hog the HDTV in the living room. |
|
This 7″ LCD display hooks up to your PS3, but unfortunately at that size, all the hi-resolution graphics offered by the PS3 comes to naught since you eye won’t be able to tell the difference compared to a standard definition image. No idea on how much this costs though.

Plasma TVs might beat out on LCDs when it comes to image quality, but next-gen LCD TVs ought to do much better as they bring brighter colors and a virtually infinite contrast ratio to the table, thanks to the efforts of Dolby and Sim2. |
|
Their new prototype LCD TV features a high dynamic range which utilizes a backlight unit from Sim2 comprising of 1,838 LEDs, capable of maintaining 1080p resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The prototype has been rated at 4,000 cd/m2 in terms of brightness, and has a uniform luminance of 95% throughout the display. According to Dolby, this TV is able to deliver a “picture quality that matches real-world visual perception of depth, detail, and color.” No word on pricing or availability, but it won’t be cheap - I can guarantee you that.

Sony has lifted the curtain on tis W4000 series of LCD TVs, bringing the following to your living room (at a premium, of course). |
There isn’t any information on price or availability, but Bravia models have traditionally remained at the top of the food chain to be prepared to break the bank and explain to the missus on why your home needs one of these…desperately. |

BenQ is offering up today what it deems the world’s slimmest 24-inch LCD monitor. We aren’t sure if that is 100 percent true or not, but we can tell you the BenQ V2400W will be available in North America in April. |
|
The BenQ V2400W, as the world’s reportedly slimmest 24-inch LCD monitor, is 2.44-inches at its thickest point. It combines “unexpected asymmetry and the aerodynamic curves of the B-2 stealth bomber,” taking its design cues from a new BenQ design mindset. A blue LED and touch controls round out this design focused display.
