Often overlooked by product designers, casual non-digital bar games like darts, billiards and foosball, have always been good for intellect avoidance, drunken challenges and ice breaking awkward dates. |
|
Sadly, most of these games have seriously lacked aesthetic presence and look like they were designed by retired auto salesmen living in log cabins. “11 - the beautiful game” by GRO Design changes all the rules and tackled the most action packed pub player. Mimicking the grandeur of actual football stadiums around the globe, this polished and slick design takes the game of gaming to a whole new level.

PS3 owners seem to be pretty happy these days, with their console being a solid Blu-ray player as Sony intended originally while receiving a whole host of service updates and upgrades to enhance the playing experience. |
|
Sony has confirmed that a PS3 video service is always under construction, and will be different from what you know is in the market these days - hopefully the folks at Sony won’t reinvent the wheel just for the sake of being different. There are also plans to allow XMB access in the middle of a game, a feature that has long been available on the Xbox 360 which clearly adds to the latter’s appeal. I wonder with such an improvement, will those sitting on the fence pick the PS3 as their primary home console of choice?

DS Lite’s featuring a bit of customized artwork is nothing new, however, political artwork is something that hasn’t been seen quite as much. This DS is showing off the face of Obama, the artwork itself is rendered by a street artist named Shepard Fairey. |

Remember way back when Sony responded to the complaints about the lack of rumble in the PS3 controllers? Sony said that rumble was a last-generation feature and that SIXAXIS was the future. It appears that they couldn’t have been more wrong. Sure, we’ve known that the DualShock 3’s were on their way for some time, however, the future of the SIXAXIS wasn’t exactly clear until now. |

Are you sick of the SIXAXIS design that has not seen any change in form factor since the original PlayStation was released two generations ago? Well, Nyko aims to bring you to the 21st century with its Playstation 3 Zero Wireless Controller. |

This industrial-looking wireless gamepad also boasts vibration support for a greater immersion experience whenever you game, and is charged via USB ports on the PS3. A single charge allows it to run for up to 25 hours, and you also have the option of using a couple of AA batteries to power it as well. Other features include LED backlit action buttons, heat dissipating aluminum panels and a hybrid metal-resin design. It currently retails for $59.99 each.

This rumor might sound pretty ordinary, but when you shed further light on the situation where it involves Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, things get a whole lot more interesting. |
|
That’s the current word circulating around in the industry, although Lite-On has declined to comment with client confidentiality as their alibi. According to the grapebine, these BD-ROMs will ship to Microsoft from the beginning of 2H 2008, since they are already the current supplier (one of many) of DVD-ROM drives for the Xbox 360. Do you think Microsoft will actually use Blu-ray? I would personally like to see them lobby for this format as an option, so that MGS4 will be able to be ported over to the Xbox 360 in order to leave Sony’s PS3 languishing behind in terms of hardware sales (in the US at least).

Thinkware’s iNAVI K2 will definitely appeal to the younger generation in Korea, since its dynamic electronic map that depicts the area in a 3D space representation looks more like a video game than anything else. Some of the features include :- |

Microsoft hit us up with a statement today regarding its Xbox 360 HD DVD player in light of the format’s current woes. The company seems to think the news won’t have “any material impact on the Xbox 360 platform or our position in the marketplace.” |
|
Microsoft goes on to reiterate its line about the largest next-gen games library and its belief that “it is games that sell consoles.”
For those of you hoping for some sort of Blu-ray attachment for the 360 — or a sense of purpose for that increasingly obsolete HD DVD player currently hooked up to your 360 — Microsoft does say that “we will wait until we hear from Toshiba before announcing any specific plans around the Xbox 360 HD DVD player,” which seems to imply there’s something to announce once HD DVD finally kicks the bucket, but at this point the prospect of a Blu-ray add-on still seems rather optimistic. |

Make no mistake, we’ve seen curious job postings lead to changes in our favorite gizmos before, and hopefully, a recent ad on Microsoft’s website is no different. |

A listing seeking a Program Manager explicitly states that it’s looking for someone to “be involved in the next release of Xbox,” and wants that very individual to be “part of the Xbox Live team that’s responsible for creating a completely new way for mainstream audiences to enjoy the Xbox and Live.”
Better still, the description suggests that the team would be “building the games, the console interface and logic, and the server support for a totally new Live experience.” Granted, there’s nothing more to go on than this at the moment, but we can’t help but be a teensy bit excited about the notion of an overhauled Xbox Live.
